The Podcast

Because silence changes nothing.
Permission to Speak is where the conversations most shows avoid actually happen. Graeme Lategan takes on leadership, company culture, politics and the truths people are usually too polite to say out loud.

Permission to Speak
Some things need to be said.
There is no shortage of commentary. There is a shortage of people willing to say what they actually think.
Permission to Speak creates room for conversations that are honest, direct and sometimes uncomfortable. Not because controversy is the goal, but because avoiding difficult subjects rarely makes them disappear.
The point is simple: get past the polished response and have the conversation properly.
The conversations
Leadership. Company culture. Politics. Truth.
Leadership
What leaders say matters. What they do matters more. Graeme looks beyond theory and fashionable terminology to judgement, accountability, behaviour, decision-making and what happens when leadership meets the real world.
Company culture
Culture is not what appears on the wall. It is what gets rewarded, ignored, challenged and tolerated every day. Permission to Speak examines the behaviours, decisions and consequences that shape the culture people actually experience.
Politics
Politics affects how people live, work, lead and make decisions. The conversations look beyond slogans and talking points to the decisions, behaviour and consequences underneath the noise.
Truth
Some truths are inconvenient. Some are unpopular. Some simply make people uncomfortable. That does not make them less worth discussing.
No scripts. No spin.
The strongest conversations rarely begin with a perfectly prepared answer.
Permission to Speak is built around honest discussion, real opinions and the willingness to question the obvious response.
Sometimes Graeme agrees. Sometimes he does not. Sometimes the conversation changes direction completely.
Real thinking
Useful tension.
This is not a show built around people politely agreeing with one another.
The purpose is to examine ideas properly, challenge assumptions and make room for different perspectives without turning every disagreement into theatre.
The conversation can be direct without becoming ridiculous.
That should not be a revolutionary concept, but here we are.

The host
A host prepared to have the conversation.
Graeme brings more than three decades of experience across leadership, management, consulting and leadership development into the room.
His style is direct, practical and curious. He asks the question behind the obvious question and is far more interested in substance than polished performance.
Permission to Speak gives him room to do exactly that.

The point
Agreement is optional. Thinking is not.
Permission to Speak is not about telling people what to think. It is about putting difficult questions on the table, examining them properly and refusing to hide behind the safe answer simply because it is easier.
